OutFest is an annual LGBTQ+ arts festival celebrating LGBTQ+ characters and stories through theatre, dance, music, and various art forms. We are an inclusive festival, creating opportunities for all of those living in Waterloo Region. OutFest takes place over four days in September at The Registry Theatre in Kitchener. Ont. We are currently looking for actors to fill various roles.
When: Tuesday May 23rd and Wednesday May 24th
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Where: 44 Gaukel Street Kitchener Ont.
Process: Fill out the audition form above. After submitting your form, we will contact you about your assigned time slot based on your availability and on a first come-first serve basis.
Actors please come prepared with a 1-2 minute monologue. Actors may be asked to read from a play or from several plays. Actors may be cast in more than one play should they accept and would need to plan accordingly.
*You do not need to have previous acting experience to be involved*.
Singers please come prepared with a musical piece that is in your range and that you feel comfortable with.
Rent: “Seasons of Love”, “Another Day,” “Will I?”
This season we will be presenting three songs from the musical Rent. Each person cast will perform in all three numbers.
Roles: We are seeking 5-6 singers and dancers

Description: In rural northern Ontario, Terrence is an aged librarian suffering in secret from the onset of HIV. Ophelia, a young intersex woman from 1906 documented her life and struggles in a diary. In 1980, Ophelia’s body is unearthed, her diary discovered by Jonathan, a young and curious boy. These two stories interweave as Terrence begins rewriting the contents of the journal to protect Jonathan, but her story is a little too close to his own for comfort.
Roles: Looking for 6-8 actors/actresses of different ages, lots of roles available.
WHAT LIES BENEATH
Written by Mikhal Strange
Description: Riddled with humor, What Lies Beneath explores the experience of transitioning from Female to Male. The piece is layered with mental health issues, parenting struggles and questioning gender and sexuality norms.
Roles: Seeking 4-5 actors/actresses.

Walk Through + Read Through + BBQ
This will not be a set or prop intensive day. We will have a walk/read through of the entire show, and a BBQ and social event will follow afterwards.
