Page 1 Productions is excited to contribute to ACCKWA's Red Scarf Project by having a Red Scarf Installation piece in the main lobby of The Registry Theatre during the week of OutFest (September 12th - 16th). Patrons and community members are encouraged to write a message highlighting their own relationship with HIV, and how it has affected them and/or their family.

In commemoration of ACCKWA’s 30th anniversary, ACCKWA is excited to embark on the Red Scarf Project, an awareness-raising and stigma-busting initiative in support of people living with HIV in Waterloo Region. ACCKWA will collect red scarves created by service users, volunteers, and community groups, along with their personalized messages expressing what their relationship with HIV and what ACCKWA means to them. These scarves and messages will then be displayed around the region throughout November and December, demonstrating to the community the many different ways HIV can impact someone’s life, regardless of their status.

Once the project is completed in December, some of the items will be auctioned off to raise money for ACCKWA’s food program, and others will be donated to our partners at St. John’s Kitchen.
